It is not uncommon for individuals to ask for their tattoo to be altered or tattooed over. This is often the case if your tattoo refers to an ex-lover or an affiliation, such as a gang, that you want to put into your past. Tattoo overs can be a good solution if you have a new design in mind for a replacement.

However, some tattoo overs work better than others. Obviously, the new tattoo should be at least slightly larger than the previous tattoo. It also helps if it is dark or at least darker than the original tattoo.
